Lightbulb Contributions

Would you be willing to contribute to the upkeep and general running of this site? If so please let us know and suggest an amount you would be willing to pay for a year subscription to Contributor features which include a custom user title, access to a private forum area and other features which are in the pipeline. All your suggestions will be greatly helpful

WiiTalk Team.

Hmmm, i dont think a read this right before selecting yes to be honest... as now i think about it, i dont think i would.

I mean really before we can really vote on this we would need to know exactly what would be in the subscription package that your talking about. If it would just to have access to a customer user title and private forums...then no, i definatly wouldnt.

The subscription package would have to have something of substance in there so that it would be worth paying for...

I think this needs to be revised with you and other admins and mods before making this public.

I certainly wouldn't buy myself mods rights - doesn't seem right to me. Glad to help out, but don't ask for my money for any reason. Sorry, but mot a chance. Why should people with a bit more money than others get preferential treatment.

Well it's only an idea at the moment, do you have any suggestions for what we could include in the subscription?

One of the other features is most likely to be contributors will not have to see any ads on the forum.

The only thing that WiiTalk have to pay for is their hosting and vBullentin license, thats it.

I dont understand why would want us to pay for a custom name (which can be changed in the admin panel within seconds) and a private forum...

Like i said, provide something with substance and i may consider it, but it would have to be something that is unique to this forum only.

I dont think it is something that the members at WiiTalk will be interest in at all, especially giving suggesstions to something that they dont want too.

Ads is also something that is irellivent too, the ads do-not bother me in the slightest.

I'm inclined to agree with the above on first reading of the proposal. I imagine the Witalk admins/mods have an idea of what they need financially and what would be practical to implement and manage.

It's nothing like mod rights at all, this is mainly just to help out with the upkeep of the site as already mentioned. It's a one off fee which you can decide to pay or not in order to help pay for the site. As the site grows we'll need more server space etc etc and therefore more money will be needed to run the site so inevitably more ads and such will need to be used to get this money. Contributions would lessen the need to use ads on the site.

As i have said before it's a work in progress and any suggestions you might have as to make the contribution feature more worthwhile would be very useful.

ah, you meant help the site finacially! I thought you meant upkeep as in tidying the forums up, etc etc. I quite like the status name showing what level your at - being able to mod it is like (to me anyway) an extention of your username. What I would quite happily do is start trawling through the old threads, sniffing out the worthwhile bits and Pm-ing you with ones that could be deleted, therefore freeing up space. Perhaps deleting accounts that have been inactive for 6 months would also help?
