In answer to the question, no way.

You say the costs are getting higher as the website grows, I feel there's enough active members here already that post regularly.

Just close the doors to the forum up. We'll have to make do with the members that are already in

I do use a couple of forums that take donations for the running of those boards and the figure in the kitty is always on display so everyone can see it.

Now I did click on yes because I don't mind paying into some kitty for the board but I don't agree with it being a fixed subscription as that is taking away peoples choice a little bit, subscription kind of implies your getting something someone else isn't and I don't think anyone would want to get perks for helping out the board.

I do have a suggestion though, if people did just contribute in a donation form and there was a build of of money that didn't get used what about using it to fund a prize and run a competion where someone could win it, be it a game or a pice of hardware, I don't think I'd want excess money to go into someone's pocket but to make the forum a more inviting place for people to visit and to feel like a community.

I like this place and when I'm online its somewhere I always check in with and usually stay logged in to so I can keep on checking back to see whats going on.

Hopefully I haven't really repeated anyone, I just got bored reading through all the replies

Yeah great suggestion messymoo. We would need some competition that is easy for all to participate in however! It's looking like we'll get some sort of donation feature going within the coming weeks depending on what time allows.

I have to agree with most on here, i read the question incorrectly when i answered yes, to me i though you ment help out around the site ect, depending on the package i will have to see. I thought thats what the advertiseing for to be honest guess am wrong!

I would never pay for any site lol. Im too tight haha. As for growth of the forum, as others have mentioned, cleanse the old people who have not been active for the past 6 months and clear loadssss of space.

Please can we have a donation box, no extra features, and a tidier site - a mix of all three would appear to help you with the cost of the site
