Well I would love it if I could get my hubby off of it, he came to bed at 3.00am this morning but then he did drive to Cirencester to get it as he couldn't find on is swindon but it was for me.
I love the online play, last night we were racing people in Spain, France, Usa and Asia.
I've been playing it most of the day with my 9 year old son (this was my first try on the game). He is hogging the wheel, as the game was his birthday pressie from his uncle (my bruver )
We played every track with a variety of characters/karts and controls.
I hate to be a killjoy but I have settled with my good old trusty Gamecube controller. I respect the tilt control, but I just get on better with my old controls that I know and love.
Rainbow Road is superb - a vast improvement on the Double Dash version, which was already one of my favourites.
When not being bumped or shelled, I can stay on any track. But I do find that there are more obstacles and pitfalls than ever in this version of my fave racing game of all time.
I really really REALLY want Ninty to release the SNES version on VC now to complete my collection of MK games.
BTW, am I the only one who can't be bothered with all this drifting mullarky?
Love it, love it, love it. Can't believe we are getting SSBB soon as well. I won't know what to play first!
Games owned (that I play): EA Playground, Endless Ocean, Excite Truck, Ghost Squad, Gottlieb Pinball, HotD, Kororinpa, Link’s Crossbow Training, Mario Kart, Mario Party 8, MySims, Pinbusters, RE:UC, Super Paper Mario, SSB Brawl, Wii Fit, Wii Play, Wii Sports
I like it. Didn't really bother with expectations though as I wasn't one of those people that counts down its release date on a calendar. Good fun. But my youngest (autistic) brother hogs it and is probably better than me now.
Stop reading my signature. NOW!
Statistically, nine out of ten people enjoy gang rape.
Got this the otherday and spent a couple of days getting a secondary wheel, deffo my facourite game on the wii the now! My wii mario kart code is 0301-9954-2899 add me and pm me urs for a race :P
I found this poll hard to vote in BECAUSE it assumes we had high expectations of the game...
I had very low expectations and am enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would so in that regard it exceeds them... But if my expectations were a long the same lines as the wave then I would have voted in the 'not at all' option because it would have disappointed... - just some random food for thought.

The Poll isn't designed to show whether MK is a good game or not(We have tons of threads for that!), it's designed to find out whether it was what people expected or not.
So it's not assuming anything as your expectations are a personal thing. If you had low expectations then you would vote for the top as it has more than exceeded with, same with stupidly high expectations, if when the game was released it's still great, but nowhere near what you were expecting, you'd pick the bottom option
