Default Wavebird discontinued

Okay, so technically this is Gamecube news, but as quite a few people agree on this forum, the wavebird is the best way to play some VC and all Gamecube games on the Wii.

So it will bring a tear to your eye to hear that it will now be discontinued.

Wavebirds are hard to get at the moment, but following this it will become even harder.

Hopefully Nintendo have something up their sleeve to fill the gap.

News Linky.

*sigh*

To play Brawl you can use, the wiimote, the wiimote and nunchuk, the classic controller and any GC controller.

All is not lost wireless gamecube controller enthusiasts!

Gameplay released this nice looking bit of kit not long ago:
Gameplay » Nintendo Wii » Gameplay - Wii Wireless GameCube Pad - FREE UK Delivery

Cheaper than the wavebird and a beautiful white!

But with the classic controller selling for £9.99 at choices currently... Maybe that's a better bet!

I am glad that I have a wavebird, and like said, I will stock up for brawl* before they start going for alot on ebay.

*The reason alot of people are probaly going to use gamecube for brawl is I dont see how you could use a wiimote practically with a fighting game, and since alot of people have been playing smash for a looooonnnnnnggggg time, they probaly have alot of tricks on the gamecube controller.

That's the single most stupid thing that nintendo could have done, when i was choosing my GC controllers for the wii, The wavebird was a couple of quid more, so i thought it was a no brainer.

Who wants wires in this day & age?
