It gives me great pleasure to announce that the forum has now returned to normal.

We have instigated some new security features to prevent a repeat of the events that happened earlier this week.

And I'm sure you'll all be very pleased to hear that the Private Message System is up and running again.

Please do not open any messages sitting there that are from anyone you do not know. It would be best to delete them immediately - trust me, you aren't missing anything.

Please continue to use the new chatroom for chat. We would prefer it if Gabbly could be abandoned completely. If a more globally compatible chatroom can be found, let us know, but for the time being, this one stays. We apologise to all those who are having problems with it, but hopefully in time we can find solutions to the problems being experienced.

Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience and disruption over the past few days, but as promised, it was a very temporary setback.

Cleansing, really.

Good to know things have been taken care of. You guys did well with this one. Its a shame it had to come to what it did, but lets hope we can all just move on from this one.

Not wanting to know the details of what happened, but as the recipient of LOTS of PM's, can I just ask, is there any security risk to my system, or was it just a board security issue?

I have complete faith in the security systems i have in place, but im sure you will be ok with me asking.

Thank you thank you. I just had a clear out of my PMs as well ... even got rid of some of my old ones from my pals on here. I had to laugh re-reading one from someone on here who made a promise to their spouse back in April to not buy anymore games until Christmas. Somehow I doubt that promise has been kept.
