Nintendo are offering a lens cleaning service. You must contact them through the link on the page linked to, and then you have to send your Wii for them to clean the lens. They, obviously, warn you against cleaning the lens yourself. It means an inconvenience because you can't get brawling but at least they are aware of the problem and trying to sort it.
Bring out the SSOA if this has been done before, but I can't remember seeing it.
It's good Nintendo are offering to clean them, but I shocking at the same time that is even happend
I haven't even got Brawl but If I did and this happend, I wouldn't have been a happy bunny!

Endless Ocean, Super Mario Galaxy, Tiger Woods 08
Medal Of Honour: Heroes 2, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Fit, Pro Evo Wii
Whyen you send the Wii in for cleaning, they also want the Brawl disc sent as well!
So you can't even play it round a mate's house.
I can only think that this is to ensure that
a) you haven't modded your console and
b) you're not trying to load a pirate disc.
They really are being coy!
I've crossed everything I can that my disc plays when it gets here (HOPEFULLY tomorrow!)
Games owned (that I play): EA Playground, Endless Ocean, Excite Truck, Ghost Squad, Gottlieb Pinball, HotD, Kororinpa, Link’s Crossbow Training, Mario Kart, Mario Party 8, MySims, Pinbusters, RE:UC, Super Paper Mario, SSB Brawl, Wii Fit, Wii Play, Wii Sports
As long as you aren't a smoker you should be fine. It is mainly the cigarette smoke that causes it, but it can also be caused if you don't touch your wii for a long time and ridiculous amounts of dust pile up.
Thats great news that its not the disk its your wii that
makes it happen. Im not a smoker and ive been playing MK
all week
Yeah, you're right... It IS great news that the problem is with the £170 console that requires being sent away for upto 10 days that's the problem and not the £30 disc that could be taken back to a shop for a replacement/refund.
Yes, I have received the label from Nintey to send it to them for cleaning. I will be packing it up tomorrow. Luckily for me I have another Wii with freeloader and my old (lol!!) NTSC copy Thanks for the concern Greenman

First the Quitting smoking game for the DS, and now this. Nintendo is just trying to say that they should stop
But yea, it is better that it is the console, because then it is only applied to a small group of smokers rather than the entire population buying the game, hoping it works.
