Nintendo "Working On" extra storage for the Wii

I would be decidedy miffed if Nintendo announced a new Wii with increased memory capaciy and sent dear sweet Fanny Adams round to visit all their loyal followers that already owned the original model.

Fingers crossed with the SD idea...

I hope they don't release a "Wii.5" or "Wii Lite" or anything... Apart from the ideas already listed above, what else could it be?

Frankly I was stunned when I first got my Wii, that VC games wouldn't run straight from the SD card. There is a possible issue with access speed, but as has already been mentioned here it's write speed that's slower. There's also the possibility of Nintendo allowing the Wii to recognise and use USB memory sticks. Either way, it's just a simple firmware update. My money's on that.
