New details on Star Wars game 'Lightsaber Duels'
Quote:
LucasArts has revealed a number of details regarding new Star Wars: The Clone Wars games, 'Lightsaber Duels' and 'Jedi Alliance' for the Wii and DS.
Wii game 'Lightsaber Duels' is predictably a lightsaber battle game that uses the Wii Remote as a lightsaber.
Whilst it's not one-to-one control, LucasArts has promised that your general movement will be mimicked on screen, providing the best Wii lightsaber experience yet.
You'll be able to participate in the most memorable duels from the animated movie and TV series, while taking control of several different characters each with their own fighting skills and unique abilities.
Could be good!
I'm certainly interested to see how close the can get the movement of the remote to match that of actually wielding a lightsaber
Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Guitar Hero III, Battalion Wars 2, Medal of Honour: Heroes 2, Mario Strikers Charged, Excite Truck, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Big Brain Academy, Metal Slug: Anthology, Wii Play, PES 2008, Endless Ocean, Super Paper Mario
DS:
Mario Kart, More Brain Training, Advance Wars: Dark Conflict, 42 All Time Classics, Project rub, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Yoshi's Island DS, Picross DS
Aww, now 1 to 1 movement would be absolutely awesome , but i guess due to the randomness of movements so much coding would have to go into it... ah well, im sure my bro will be looking to get this
I'm not sure that any system would be able to live up to one-to-one control, but I'll keep an open mind until I see what the end result is.
I expect a large amount of Wii owners (discounting the more casual gamers) would love a one-to-one control system, so I don't see why LucasArts don't just go ahead and make it. If they can get it to work, they've got many confirmed sales.
This is what I bought my Wii for. As soon as I heard Star Wars games being confirmed I made my decision. Motion sensing + star wars = fun
I take it this new title is more Street Fighter than Jedi Knight?
OK accurate mapping would be sweet but it doesn't have to be 100% to be great fun, or the best Star Wars experience to date. This better be good or Lucas will no doubt be at the end of some angry mob justice.
