Default Guitar Hero IV to include Extra Peripherals, Inlcuding a Microphone!

Quote:
Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has said that Guitar Hero IV will be receiving extra peripherals, including a microphone.

Kotick commented on the future of the franchise in an interview with Conde Nast Portfolio magazine (according to IGN). He also mentioned that the next instalment will let players strum along with bands local to their area

"It's not just about guitars," Kotick said. "We'll include a lot of other instruments, vocals. It will help us expand internationally. It's the first game we've had in which we can use local content and local bands."

But whether or not you'll be able to sing along with your local pub band (ho-ho) is insignificant next to the price. Will Activision undercut the £180 price point of Rock Band with Guitar Hero IV? This could get interesting.
Interesting move! I didn't see it coming, but I guess I should've really

The price will be the most important factor as the article says...

This sounds promising. Surely it's going to be a lot cheaper than Rock Band.

The introduction of drums using 2 remotes and some foot pedal peripherals would be cool.

I personally don't like the sound of this at all. One thing I have against rock band is that all of the notes for everyone can be a little cramped.
I would rather they leave the extra stuff to rock band and keep Guitar hero purely Guitars.

Will I have to buy the game and guitar though? Coz I'd rather just use the one I have.... Then I'd be more inclined to buy it, and the micraphone/other instruments. If I have to buy the game, guitar and then other instrument, I might just pass....

Games I have; <SuperMarioGalaxy> <wiifit> <Mario Kart Wii> <GuitarHeroIII> <ZackAndWiki> <WiiSport> <WiiPlay> <MarioParty8> <BigBrainAcademy>

It really is a lot more fun (and frustrating) than it looks. At first I thought it was just a gimmick and that it couldn't produce any decent gameplay, but I am hooked on the game.

I now have Guitar Hero rocks the 80's on the PS2, Guitar Hero II and III on the Xbox 360 as well as Guitar Hero III twice on the Wii. And I will be getting Guitar Hero: Aerosmith as well as Rock Band when they are released.
You could say I am some what addicted to this great style of play, as well as some amazing songs.

I'd be very suprised if you couldn't use your current guitar

So that's £40 saved right there for us GH 3 owners!

Although I agree with Skyman that they should keep it how it is to some extent, there won't be a necessity to have all the instruments, so it could still just be Guitar hero to you

Well there is a connection port in the bottom of the current guitar, so maybe that will support these extras mentioned above.

But for the first couple of months after release, it will probably be so you have to buy the bundle package. And I doubt that GH4 will be out in the wii's lifetime, especially with GH:AS coming out.

I'm hoping GH:AS is just a little side project as it doesn't appeal to me at all

I'd much rather they got on with sorting out a solution for the DLC or even a disk with some new songs on!!
