Default Sonic Has Arrived! + Decalgirl

As you will see from the attached photograph, Sonic has arrived!

I had a quick go last night and spent just over 37 minutes going through the 'training' levels along with a few of the 'real' levels.

My initial thoughts on the game were "WOW!", however this initial opinion is starting to change...

I will give it a week or so, so I can get in to the game a bit more before reviewing it.

==========================

You may (or may not) have noticed from the first photo that I have skinned my Wii! To get a closer look, I have attached another 2 photos.

I used the infamous DecalGirl web site in the USA and had them delivered over here to good old Blighty!

They were very easy to install and are very easy to take off (without leaving any marks). The reason I wanted to put them on was not just to personalise my Wii, but to prevent it from getting scratched.

I never thought about using the decals to prevent scratching. Because my Wii is at my little brothers house where him and his mates go mental it might be worth getting some of them decals.

Are they really that easy to take off? I would be worried about leaving bits of sticky left on the device?

They are very easy to take off and leave no mess or anything!

Think of it like a plastic post-it note.

I had a some decals from decalgirl for my PSP (again to prevent scratching) and when I sold it to get my Wii i removed the decal and there was no marks or anything - it was quite litterally in mint condition!

The first thing I did when I got my Wii is order the decals and put the empty box in the loft. In a couple of years time when the Wii 2 comes out (as no doubt it will) I will peal off the decals and my Wii will be scratch free so therefore have a slightly better resale value.

You can get decals from eBay etc. but personally I would only get them from decalgirl.com and wait a couple of weeks for them to arrive from the USA as they are infamous for top quality decals.

Maybe I'm getting old - but What's the point of these decals?

In my opinion the way the wii looks now is perfect.

Almost "apple like" - What happened to those rumours?

ps I'm refering to a certain Beatle Album - not the computer thingy!!!

People put decals on their devices for many different reasons, some because they want to personlise their device or others (like me) want to protect their device from getting scratched.

A lot of households put wallpaper up on the walls when a lick of paint would do, why? To personalise their homes so it's not like everyone elses!

Each to their own, some will bother some wont. If my Wii just sat next to my TV at home then I wouldn't have bothered.

As the Wii is a social console I tend to take it with me when I go round to my mates houses as a social thing and with all this moving around I might get scratched - using decals will help prevent this!

How hard are they to put on? Is it possible to put them on wrongly/"sque wiff"?

Like, can you misalign the sticker, then block the CD Tray?

Great Blog btw

Yes you can misalign them, infact I would be very surprised if you didn't misalign them on your first attemt!!!

The decals themselves come in several parts, one for each side, the front and the top. If you misalin one of them you simply peel it off and start again!

The decals from decalgirl are of great quality and you can peel them on and off several times so you can make sure that you get it on correctly (I had to remove one side several times until I got it right.

You need 2 things to be able to put the decals on:

1: Clean Hands
2: A Little Bit Of Patience

They are really easy to fit, the only difficult thing about them is choosing which one you want to go for as there are loads to choose from on the decalgirl web site.

Normal delivery can take up to 2 weeks for them to arrive but you can pay about $15 for priority delivery and they turn up within a few days.

I ordered a skin for the Wii itself and 4 controller/nunchuck skins as well. I paid for the priority delivery (and they still cost less than the UK equivalent) and they arrived within about 3 days.

The sooner you place your order, the sooner they will arrive!

If you decide to go ahead and get some decals don't forget to post a photo here for us all to see which one you chose!

I like the CSI one you've used

However, i actually quite like the "Apple" look of the Wii (it's almost an iWii isn't it )

So I wouldn't mind a simple set of clear seethrough decals that provide the scratch resistance without altering the look (or failing that, the classic nes decal looks cool)
