Wii SD Memory Cards - What's That All About?

Quick question....

I don't wanna buy a hugely expensive 2gb SD card if im only gonna use it for my wii. I don't need one for my digi camera so it might be a waste. If I can copy save files and VC files from my wii to a folder on my pc, what's the point of getting a 2gb card when 512 will be enough. Just use a PC to copy files if and when you need it in a safe and well filed computer?

AM I right or raising a stupid point here?

If £9.99 is too expensive for you then you can go for a cheaper/smaller one if you like.

I believe you can copy them from the SD card to your computer and store them on their if you wish, I don't think they are that large so you could just keep them on the SD card itself.
