It has recently been announced that Jenga (yes I do mean the game where you stack wooden blocks on top of each other), is being created for the Nintendo Wii!
The Wii's controller makes it an ideal platform for this game. I can't imagine this will be a full-price game (i.e. £39.99) - but then you never know with some of these comapanies. There is no release date as of yet so we shall have to wait and see if this materialises or not...
There hasn't been many decent games released for the Wii as of late. I have tried Spiderman and wasn't that impressed. Rapala fishing landed on my doormat the other day (part of my rental list) and have only just got around to trying it. Needless to say I will be sending it back ASAP! Not my cup of tea really...

I think Jenga would make a nice addition to a mini-game combination similar to Wii Play
The remote would work well with it, but if it's going to be released soley as a jenga title they're going to need to have a lot of extra ideas to make it worth even a tenner...

This is the current concern on the street (so to speak) as it would be great as part of a collection of mini-games but is likely to be pretty poor on its own.
I doubt this is to the case as they wouldn't make any money out of it would they!
Making money is not just about direct sales. How many Wii's would have been sold without the Wii Sports pack-in? Or how many % of Wii's sales were closed because there was mii, news, and weather channels? It doesn't seem like much, but it all contributed to selling the console. A free downloadable game would/could drive sales even more.

From what I gather, rumour has it that there will be 50 variations to the game such as exploding bricks etc.
This will either be a fantastic and fun puzzle type game, or a flop.
Certainly does sound interesting, but will there be enough content to justify a full game price?

Look at Tetris, a fairly simple game - yet very addictive and fun so became a huge success!
Yeah, so huge but it's Russian inventor (who emigrated and now works for microsoft) didn't get a single penny from that game

Nintendo don't own the rights to the Jenga trademark, Hasbro do. What would Hasbro get out of giving the game away for free?
