One thing that seems to slip a lot of peoples minds is that the Wii can also play GameCube games as well as the normal Wii ones!
To be able to play a GC (GameCube) game on your Wii you will need two things, at least one GC controller and a GC memory card.
Some of you out there are bored with the poor selection of games for the Wii at the moment - so why not look at what GC games are out there to keep you occupied until more games for the Wii are released?
Memory cards can be picked up quite cheap from places like eBay or Gamestation and so can the controllers. With regards to the controllers, expect to pay a lot more for a 'proper' Nintendo controller than a generic one like Logic3 or 4Gamers.
I paid £6.99 for a new Logic3 controller and £14 for a second user Nintendo one - do the maths and see which one(s) you would buy!
You can get GC games from around £5 but expect to pay around £14 for any decent ones.
I was surprised at how easy the controller was to get on with as the reason I have never had a console in the past is because I have never been able to get on with the controllers that the likes of the PS2 or N64 had.
I have two GC games at the moment. Both are car games - Burnout 2 and 18 Wheeler! The graphics were surprisingly good and very comparible to that of some of the current Wii games - so I can now understand that the developers have got a fair way to go before they unlock the real power of the Wii!!!
I got 18 Wheeler as it is a fun game that I have enjoyed playing at the Amusement Arcades at places like Skegness and Alton Towers! Burnout 2 is a game I have liked the look of on the Playstation and I am finding it great fun to actually crash on purpose to see how much destruction I can cause!
What GC games have you been playing on the Wii and did you have them already from being a GC owner or do you do what I did and buy them specifically for the Wii?
And its kinda of a 'do before you die' with Windwaker and everyone should give Mario sunshine, Smash bros melee, Pikmin 1 and resident evil 4 a run thought.
POP = Prince of Persia, not a fan myself.

Just thought I'd mention there is also the Nintendo Wavebird controller, wireless so that it fits in with the Wiimotes better. Avoid 3rd party ones though as I have heard they don't work with VC games.
I mostly play Gamecube games at the moment as Wii games are a little expensive. I was not a Gamecube owner, I have only discovered them since getting a Wii.
Gamecube games I own:
Spiderman the Movie game
Simpsons Hit & Run
Star Wars Rogue Squadron: Rogue Leader (This game looks amazing, it's hard to imagine this was one of the first Gamecube games when you look at what other games look like.
Sonic Mega Collection (if you want more than Sonic 1 that VC offers.)
Timesplitters 2
X-men Legends
Pikmin
On the subject of prices, I got all of the games above as part of Gamestation 4 for £20. £5 for a game is a great price. Just wish the did Windwaker and Animal Crossing at those prices.
