Default Where Have I Been & What Have I Been Doing? (1st April 2008)

Blimey! I can't believe it has been around 4 months since I last posted on the forum.

I started a new job last year in IT Support and didn't have much time to spend online so had a sebbatical from WiiTalk and now I have returned once more to enlighten you all with my views and oppinions!

Nintendo DS

In December last year I nipped out down the town to have a look in the shops to see what Wii games were available and I somehow managed to come home with a brand new Nintendo DS from GameStation!

Not only that, I enjoyed it so much I went back a week later and brought another one as a Christmas present for my sister.

I have found the DS strangely addictive and in particular I have mostly been playing games such as Scrabble 2007 (rubbish at it but play anyway), Telly Addicts and 42 All-Time Classics.

Basically (god I had people who use that word ) I have been playing short and simple games on the DS which seems to me to be a fantastic medium for such things.

Most Played Game On My Wii

Mario Party 8 has narrowly taken over Wii Sports as the most played game on my Wii now. After ruining yet another Wii Controller as I flung it across the room (smashing through one of my plastic storage tubs leaving a controller shaped hole in it), I decided to leave my Wii and Mario Party 8 round a mates house and got them to unlock Bowser's Warp Orbit and the Blooper/Hammer Bro characters.

Rumour has it that after playing for an additional 50 hours after unlocking these things you get an extra 25 mini games to play during the game - not sure where I got this info from so it may be false - can anyone confirm if this is true or not?

Wii Fit

I recently pre-ordered Wii Fit from GameStation and when they send it to me I should be getting a free bag or something.

I can't be bothered to go jogging any more so I thought that this might be an alternative that I might actually do on a regular basis!

Anyway, it's great to be back once more and I hope to chat with you all on the forum soon.

Smeg_head - as previously said good to see you back. With Wiifit on order (as do I) it might be worth looking at those battery packs already available for it.

I'm afraid I traded MP8 after one too many flicks of the 'mote to hit a dice and nothing more. SSBB is looking good though, and Pes I can fully recommend.

And on the DS, there is simply no excuse for not having MKDS...

Cheers JackaByte!

Hi Wii_man!

Like you, I go for DS games that are short and sweet, so I also have 42 All-in-One. But you must also invest in Touchmaster and the 4 in one Monopoly/Battleship/Yahtzee/Boggle one. They are also ace!

And of course, Mario Kart DS is a must - online racing again! That and Mario Party DS would be my other suggestions to suit your needs.

Mario Party is so much better on the DS than it was on GBA, by the way!!!

I have to confess that I also have those games and I haven't really played any of the 'full' type of games such as MarioKard DS as my DS has turned in to something that I use when I can't be bothered to think for long periods of time or just have a few minutes to spare whilst waiting for somehting.

I use the Wii for playing the 'full' games - in particular multiplayer games as I either get bored if playing on my own or frustrated and destroy things like 3 Wii controllers so far...

Firstly... Can I recommend some anger management?? 3 wii-motes!!!! :-S.. I never want to meet you on a bad day man :-S.

Hmm By the sounds of things you may enjoy Zoo Keeper (the DS version of bejeweled) and also Puzzle Quest if you haven't played it already.

But glad to see you are spending your time wisely!! I haven't touched my DS for a while... after playing Pokemon Pearl for about 40 hours I sorta felt the need to give the mini gaming a rest hehe

Welcome back Wii_man .

Good choice on the DS. I recommend Zelda Phantom Hourglass if you want a decent adventure game
.....and a puzzle game that you can play in short bursts and that I think is genius is Professor Layton and the Curious Village.

Apart from that, MK DS is good for a laugh as is 42 All Time Classics (but that's enough game recco's for now......glad you made it back here )

P.S. Don't suppose you'd mind sending me your mii again would you? I seem to have lost yours somewhere (to my wii console I mean)

Thanks for the welcome back!

Zelda is not really my cup of tea, I had it on the Wii and too it back a few days later. :(

Never heard of the Professor Layton and the Curious Village so I will have to check it out to see if it's my sort of game or not.

So basically you went away for work for a few months and was busy - now you're back?

Anyway nice point about Zelda - I don't like it either, however peer pressure forced me into getting it ages ago, now it collects dust whilst looking nice...

EDIT: Just looked at your adds. Are they all under the same company? I take it that it's your company?

Think of something from your childhood, a vivid memory. Between that time and now, every cell in your body has changed. So, were you really there?

It's my personal website if that's what your asking, not a company just my website.
