Wii - Pro Evo

I have just watched the demo of the control system for PES wii on you tube and it looks like it could be a revelation. If they get this right it may just be one of nintendo and Konami's crowning moments. Anyone else seen it?, opinions?

i think that the new way of playing the game will slow down the pace of the matches, and make you vulnerable to losing possession easily, as you will spend time aiming the pass, and may not notice an oncoming player.

I think like most things it would take some getting used to, but if they get it right and you mastered it then it could be amazing. What appeals to me is the ability to control the players off the ball which I think has been the main down fall of the whole series, it enfuriating when the AI just doesnt make the runs or put the pass in the place you wanted it.

Saying all that, there is always a risk they could get it very wrong, look at the hype surrounding the "next Gen" Pro evo's and they have been awful so far.

but the game would still be pretty slow. thats the point. i can't play slow games of football

I don't think I will be getting this on release, Will have to read everyone opinions first

The Konami team that make Pro Evo have never let me down and I don't expect them to with the Wii Pro Evo. They won't ruin their reputation and release a turd.

I admit watching videos of it make the game look more confusing to play, but I think that just because its different. It's unfair to write the game off before you've played it. If all football games worked this way then one day some one changed the controls to just button presses the same disscussions would happen.

Personally being able to pass to the exact spot I want and get players to run where I want them is a God send, I recall many hours spent screaming at players in other versions of Pro Evo because they wouldn't make a run or the AI decided that they pass I requested wasn't what I actually meant !

All I'm saying is reserve judgement until it's fully completed and out for sale, as slash2k01 said this could be a football revelation.

I'm with you, and I'm still holding my breath for a classic controller option too......

Cant wait - this is going to increase the games longitivity (?) while i learn to control the players!
