Default Red Steel - poll

hi all,

i got red steel for xmas and ive only played it twice...
i see the videos of it and read up on it and all i heard from nintendo was that its a brilliant game gonna have you playing for hours!!

i personally dont think it was any where near what nintendo said it would be!

so leaves me to this question...

did red steel live up to its hype for you?

The thing i dislike the MOST about it is that if you decide to watch telly for instance, and resume playing 2moro....you have to start at the beginning of the level again rather than the last checkpoint.

This is what I hated about Devil May Cry on the PS2 and was why I got rid of it.

If I decide to stop playing, I don't want to have to do the whole previous 30min all over again when I resume at a later date :x

I'd give it 7-8/10
It really is a very good game and you can even get used to the swordfighting bits.

The problem with the long spaces between game saves is an annoyance (and a particular bugbear of mine...if they used the "checkpoints" as savepoints, the game would be much much better imo) but this is quite seperate from the otherwise good gameplay.

My advice is to buy it if you don't mind the odd 1/2 hour between saves (unlike me) as the rest of the game is quite good.

I really enjoyed red steel so i voted yes. I wasn't to bothered about the save thing gaffer because on the most part i completed a level before i turned it off, unless i got stuck and then turned it off in frustration. It does have good gameplay though it is a somewhat buggy game with little glitches being quite common and make it feel almost unfinished.

Overall it is a good game though. Multiplayer could be improved...i don't see why it would be so hard to introduce some bots instead of having it just as player on player because unless you have a big screen 2v2 is not very good and 1vs1 gets very boring very quick!
