Need some opinions

Appologies, I couldnt really see an appropriate place to post this so I chose here...

I need some help really. I have started to question wether the Wii was the right console for me. Ive had all the nintendo consoles and love all the classics like Mario, mario kart and am looking forward to them being released on the Wii, but I also like to play a good shoot em up in multiplayer mode, the likes of Halo or unreal tournament come to mind, i really want to play these sorts of games on line against other people from around the world.

Im well impressed with the Wii but im not sure if im going to get everything i want from it, does anybody know if these kind of things will happen, to be honest im surprised Nintendo hasnt made the online gaming facilities available yet

I think the real problem is the lack of online multiplayer games...i dont think its nintendos fault there arent any online gaming facilities because no game has yet to implement this. I think it should be available by june i read somewhere. So you will probably just have to wait for those online multiplayers...i do believe it will happen for sure otherwise there is little point to having a console that can connect to the internet if you can t use it for internet gaming!

u know what would be siiik as a online game...Wii SPorts imagine playing tennis against people from across the world!!! i would be on my Wii all the tiime!!

i gotta admit atm i dont play it that much as its not a console that for me is at its best on one player, except for zelda n thats like completed lol

im just waiting on more games as there aint many out that im interested but as soon as an online game is avaible ill be on it 24/7!!

Yeah there have been rumours of wii sports 2 and if it does come out i dearly hope it will implement online play. but if they could do an update for wiisports via the software update thing to let it do online play i dont think many users wouldn't be online!

Hi Guys & Gals, I agree with you all on this. I can't see the point on having an online system without being to play eachother, surely it's not just so you can have Mii friends When I brought it I thought that you would be able to play online against people. I've only been playing Wii Sports but now that i've worn that out i'm going to treat myself to a new game :P
What do you guys recommend?

I personally would recommend Zelda-Twilight Princess.

I think it is a very good game and makes good use of the wiimote and nunchuck.

I love the fishing although I haven't unlocked the 'better' rod yet. You will understand when you play the game.

I would recomend Red Steel, I think it is a very good game

Unfortunatly Nintendo seem to have only released 1 or 2 big name games so far and thats Zelda and Red Steel.

With releases like Sadness, Orb, Metriod 3, Sonic, Trauma Center and Eledees coming out its worth waiting before you buy games.

I've bought so far Zelda, Red Steel and Wii Play (only for the extra Wiimote really) to keep me quiet untill they start releasing the bigger games.

I think what we have to remember here is that the Wii is still in the very, very early days of development with loads of things planned but not quite ready yet.

I'm over the coming months we will see all sorts of things happening (I hope)...

Get a 360 it has online multiplayer and good single player games (Lost planet / Dead rising / Gears of war and coming soon Mass Effect / Halo3 / Unreal Tournament 3)

At this point I can't justify getting a Wii when it only has 2 good games Zelda (on GC) and Wii Sports that won't last you a month between them.

If you buy a wii remember its an investment in the future while the 360 has a nice big backlog of games to play.

As for the online can it be stated that the developers do not have the component available to do online. Since such a thing is putting off Wii gamers I suggest Nintendo hurry up and theres rumours of the system launching Feb to June.

In short nobody knows yet.
