Default Call of Duty - control problems

Hi - has anybody else noticed a major problem with Call of Duty? I have a real issue with the controls not responding or freezing up when gameplay gets really intense. For instance, if there are lots of characters, gunshots, explosions - and especially if an MG42 is rattling away - it becomes almost impossible to control. My gun will slowly drift up and to the left, for example, or I will get stuck in one position and be unable to move, or if I manage to fire, the gun will keep shooting even with the B Button released. As the firefight dies down, normal control resumes. This is incredibly frustrating, as the point I'm at in the game is proving impossible to get through without actually being able to shoot straight, move to avoid being shot of blown-up etc! Has anybody else had this issue? It's almost as if the Wii can't handle so much stuff going on as well as allow player control!

Yeah i had exactly the same problem. I did noticed though that when it did happen if i managed to move out of the way ofthe area where i was losing control it would stop...and moving back into that area it would continue again :S strange. It also disable the home button on mine did it for you? I took to shaking around the controls like a nut until it stopped i don't know what it is though. I might search some other forums for an answer on this one. I don't think its the console not having the power to compute it because i think it would just slow down not become incontrollable.

Yep, I noticed that too- trouble is the bit I am at, there are only 3 items of decent cover! Didn't notice the Home button being disabled, as I haven't thought about pressing it. I too have been shaking the controllers like a madman and screaming at the screen! It's so annoying! I don't mind being shot if I'm being rubbish, but it's a whole different thing if the actual program is messed up!

haha hmmm yes its a bit of bummer... what difficulty are you on at the moment and which level? Actually i just realised that i noticed it does it less on Veteran level than easy..which is handy but still if it does it on veteran and you get shot your dead pretty much but you can survive a fit of the spins on easy :P

I'm on the next level up from easy (normal?). Don't recall what level I'm on but I think it may be near the tail-end of the game. I'm playing a US squddie at the mo, and have just fought my way through a load of houses. I'm now pinned down with my squad, with a big roadblock manned by stacks of Germans and a tank in front of me. And they just keep coming!

Yeah thats normal. Erm is it the bit where you have to choose to go down the middle of left or right side of the street to get to the next bit? If you get stuck on a section check you objectives and if its something like "hold out until support arrives" then you just stick where you are and kill all the germans till support arrives. To be honest they are the best objectives because you can just have fun blowing the c**p out of them :P

Whats your favourite gun so far? The Stg44 on the last mission is the best in my books second is probably the trench gun thats wicked!

Yeah it is a shame in an otherwise great game...really needs multiplayer too!
