I let it go at the top too, was the only way I could get it to go at a decent speed.

Try timing it better and you can get it right at the bottom and get all the speed...and spinning is easier too

I only ever had a quick go on this game and from what I remember the only time I got a decent score was when I released near the top - maybe the bottom would have been better but I just don't have that kind of skill lol
