Question: It seems like a more natural progression for the series to move to Wii rather than the DS. Is there any reason why you didn't take it there first?

Answer: It didn't feel natural to us, I guess. It really was that the DS felt like it had a lot of interesting challenges that would be totally different from what we'd done in the past. The stylus and the chance to use minigames in that way was really interesting and exciting to us, and we thought we could integrate seamlessly between those two modes. And it would be the chance to make something really good on a handheld with our handheld-focused team. That was really why we went that way. We haven't really done any concrete, major thinking about the Wii, one way or another. They're sort of separate issues.

So we have an answer, but that answer is pretty lame. Still, Chinatown Wars looks very interesting and Rockstar will probably get around to developing a GTA for the Wii. Why would anyone leave that much money on the table?

Why, oh why, must everyone feel the Wii isn't natural for certain games? I don't understand. Is it laziness to develop something for an all new controller? I don't get it. So many developers have a problem with the Wii.

Rockstar thinks it isn't right for the Wii, yet they develop it and harness the potential of the DS? Please.

I would have thought it would feel a lot more natural on the wii, i mean for example when driving you could have been using the wii wheel that would have been good fun

But Sherlock you're right it is just pure laziness on the developers part.

It is really strange thats for sure. I initially felt that maybe Sony/Microsoft had tied Rockstar up and away from Nintendo as a whole but then they work with them for Chinatown on DS.

As mentioned in the article, the money that would just roll in is too good to be ignored. I for one know of no single Wii user who wouldn't buy the game. as for the tidious arguement of "would it provide too life-like movements that allow people to carry out vicious acts" ... this must have been put to bed by the other games that could carry out similiar effects.... even though my personnel belief is that the arguement is based on wrongful facts and guess-work.

This is surely the next project Rockstar should work on and i only hope that Chinatown was to "test the water" in the Nintendo market as it would require a lot less development time for stylus over WiiMote.

C'mon lads that blags.

A large portion of game players own both a Wii and A N Other. If they own one of the others ,then the chances are they'll own GTA. they are going to try and milk the sales off the other two platforms first, for all their worth.

GTA will come to the wii, we'll get an update this time next year

I was gonna post this but i thought it
was not going to be needed, its a little
bummer but i didn't think it would work
anyway. The Wii wouldn't feel right such
as a highjack motion

You've clearly not played either Scarface or Godfather :blackhand ed' both of which are quality games on the wii.

Even Bully came through well enough, controls wise.

That's unfortunate that they say that, but i'm sure Rockstar will bring something up... they must do!
