inXile Entertainment's purchased the rights to popular Flash game Line Rider, with plans to release versions on both Nintendo DS and Wii next spring. The company says they'll be working up some new features, too.
Line Rider isn't as much a game as it is a fun-with-physics tool. Essentially, it provides the user with a blank slate and a pencil, allowing them to draw whatever on the page and drop a virtual sledder from the sky, who attempts to navigate the design. People have come up with some incredibly intricate paths, many of which are found on YouTube by simply searching for "Line Rider."
"Line Rider began its life as a project I did for illustration class," said Bostjan Cadez, Line Rider's Slovenian creator. "As much as people see it as a game I think of it as a toy because there is no score and no one wins or loses while playing Line Rider."
