Default Insult and a blow for Wii?

Quote:
Epic Games won’t ever make a game for the Wii: “we go forward, not back”

When asked whether there would ever be a time when Epic would be forced to give in and create a game for the Wii, Capps said, “no, we go forward, not back. It makes more sense for us to invest in the next-generation tech.”

As for why he believes the Wii has become so popular, he says it’s like a virus that just keeps spreading

My initial thought was "Who are Epic Games?"
Now that I've Googled them my second reaction is "No great loss"

That's exactly the kind of lazy thinking that I thought the Wii had got over

How is producing games for platforms that just improve graphics and power each year moving forward? It's staying in exactly the same place!

Nintendo are trying to take steps forward, but if all publishers thought like this it would be impossible for them to do it. Thankfully it appears not all developers are as short-sighted as these

What a stupid thing to say...

I am not that out-raged but epic games do make some good games (okay, A good game) and I hope this sort of babble doesn't encourage other publishers to say the same...

On a side note capcom - a company I really like - seem to be really supporting the Wii which is awesome

Epic took the easy way out and chose graphics>gameplay. Not a suprise really after playing Gears of War for a couple of months. They should at least try to make use of the motion sensitivity.

Gears of war online is really good tbh... in fact the whole game plays really beautifully so I don't think you can really bash them on that front considering how good gears is...

but yeah it is lazy and ashame that a developer with such potential essentially *wussed* out of the Wii

I agree with foo. Look at the difference between 360 and The original. A few upgraded graphics, thats all that was changed. Then look at the change between nintendo consoles. Have you noticed they all introduce Brand new control schemes. Not to mention the Gamecube was amazing in terms of portability. The thing is that I didn't even know who epic was before reading this. Like caboose, it doesn't look like we are missing much. I would prefer they don't make them, because they obviously don't want to take advantage of the wii, and people would probably buy for the name, so I don't want the best-selling game on the wii to use the wiimote on its side.

I suppose I can agree on the online was good at the time I played it, but in my opinion nothing truly stood out.
