Gamecube Controller - WiiTalk

Hey, Im new here so be gentle !

Ive just bought a Gamecube controller from ebay hoping to use it with my wii.

Ive had a little search around the forum and cant find simular postings but this must of been mentioned before......

The connection port the Gamecube controller came with (long and thin) does not fit into any of the wii ports.

Is there a way of connecting this up to my wii. Ive not owned a Gamecube in the past so wasnt really expecting any problems connecting it.

Again, if this has been posted before or if Im being really dense then appoligies in advance!

I havn't used a GC much but if i remember correctly there is an extension or something you need to go to the console? Also it is an official controller because 3rd party don't work on the wii

The ports for gamecube controllers (as you must know) are under the panel on the top of the wii. If you're pad doesn't fit into one of these 4 ports then it sounds like you don't have a gamecube controller!

thanks for the replies so far.. still need some help

The gamecube controller is original as far as Im aware.

The ports under the cover do not match the connection on my controller. The ports on the wii are huge. I need something more like the size of an s-video port.

Perhaps there is a connection/converter lead I need to buy.

Does anyone actually own a gamecube controller that can advise?

Must be that none nintendo controllers dont work on the VC games then.

I've got a Gamecube controller and it fits into the ports on the top without problem.

Just to be clear I'm talking about these round(ish) ports:

The rectangular shaped ones are for gamecube memory cards.

One last thing.. are you able to use the gamecube remote for VC games. Dont want to buy points add one and not be able to play it. Cheers for your help guys.

Sadly I've only used my Gamecube controller for playing gamecube games, I haven't actually used the VC at all. I'm a VC Virgin, but that cherry will be popped soon cause I want R-Type!!!!

But as far as I know you can use the GC controller for VC games without any problems.
