Default My new component cable has arrived

Hi all.
I just ordered this cable from amazon.

Right, got my cable today.
A few things to share:

1) With Free Super Saver Delivery, from placing the order to delivering it was only 3 days

2) This is NOT a Fanatec cable. Amazon has (bizarreley) got it wrong here. It clearly says on the packaging that it is a Snakebyte cable. Which explains why there's no info on it on the fanatec website . HERE (1st link) is its original product page. Below is a piccie of some of the packaging:

3) The cable is 2m long (not mentioned on amazons page)

4) Build quality is fantastic (I played around with an official cable in a shop, and this cable has much better build quality than the official one).
Chunky connectors.....very nice:

RFI shielding:

5) This cable itself is also shielded. Look carefully at the packaging in the top piccie...it states that it is a multi-shielded cable. Plus, a close view of the phono wiring shows clearly that it is a shielded cable (-ve return is wrapped/sheathed around the +ve wire).

Not only are the individual wires shielded, but then they're all shielded again in the thicker part, and again. This is a triple shielded cable, and I haven't noticed any probs with my sky or my setup (unlike some other cables)

6) PQ is FANTASTIC. Yes, you see more jaggies, but you will with any GOOD component cable. The jaggies are a feature of non-antialising on the part of the game designers, NOT the cable. Pop in a decent gamecube game in there and you'll still see a massive improvement.
Colours are more vibrant, clarity and sharpness is brilliant, no blurring, no bleeding (of red especially) etc etc
Here are some piccies (sorry for the setting, but I didn't realise the reflection from the rear window would be picked up so well....i'll try better piccies later ) :

Look closely at the orange "swooshes"...no pixelation/blurring/hatch lines

Mii (improvement in clarity especially noticeable here) (btw, my mii is a caricature...50% like me, 50% modelled on the Delphonics    ....got the idea from an episode of Kung Faux)

The main Wii start menu

Bowling...again, sorry for the reflections, i'll redo the piccies when I can

Overall: A great cable, with Fantastic build quality and Fantastic picture quality.
Clarity is now improved to the point that I can read webpages using the opera browser with no problem at all, and no need to zoom...well it impressed me anyway
I definitely recommend it and give it a big THUMBSUP

PS. Telly is a Tosh 36" with progressive scan mode "on". It's a temporary fix until i can get it back onto the projector again

As far as I'm aware, there is no vga in the uk.

vga is a computer res that is up to 640x480

480p is a tv standard that is also known as EDTV and is 720x480 lines (12.5% higher resolution)...the best the Wii can give.

True HDTV is either 720p (1280x720) or 1080i/p (1920x1080)...the Wii cannot give you true HDTV

BTW: 1080p (HDTV) is 6 times the highest resolution achievable by the Wii (480p EDTV)

PS yes, I second that.....piccies of official cable please for comparison (even better if you have the same Toshiba 36ZP48 telly)

Addendum:

I wrote to amazon saying these things:

1) VERY happy with their product, the quick delivery AND the price

2) However, they had the name of the company wrong...it is a SnakeByte cable, not a Fanatec cable (fanatec do not make Wii cables)

3)Could they please also add the fact that the cable is 2.0m long and multi-shielded to the description, because these are two important facts in choosing an AV cable

4) Again, VERY happy with Amazon's service overall and have recommended them and the product to friends

They replied by refunding me £2 :?

eh? (not that I'm complaining....the cable cost me £18 then )

I just received this cable from Amazon yesterday as well. And I have to say it's quite an improvement. I'm very impressed.

I bought the aforementioned official Nintendo cables from Amazon, at £16.99 with free delivery. I found some on the shelf in Virgin in Hereford where I could compare them to some 4Gamers (£14.99) and some Blaze cables (£19.99). Obviously I didn't unpack them or anything but to look at them the Blaze cables looked good quality, while the 4Gamers looked a bit rubbish. The official cables sat somewhere in between (to look at them) but they were £24.99 on the shelf!

Anyway, I'm truly astonished by the difference they've made. I'm using a TECO 32" HDTV. They make everything sharper on the menus and on Mii's, but the really impressive bit was when I saw tennis in 480p; everything is sharper and the game actually seems slightly quicker (because the animations are smoother).
