Wii DVD - WiiTalk

Hey all...

I'm new to here so 'hey!', and was wondering whether anyone had heard anymore of the rumours over the Wii's capabilities to play DVD's in the future?

As i understand it there will be a new version in the mid 2007 time, but will this just have extra software or new hardware?

If its a software extra then can it just be downloaded and installed to any Wii?

I cant remember but i think the 2007 one will be HD DVD or whatever.

If its HD than deffo Hardware, if normal than could be software update, but some1 at Nintendo said it would take more than an update.

A standard DVD player should be on the cards as it could be done with software.

A HD-DVD would be a huge change, really don't see them going through with this. possibly bring out a special edition Wii that can do it, but personaly doubt it'll happen.
