Default Any way to connect Wii to PC or monitor?

Title says it al really. Is there anyway to connect my Wii to a PC or a PC monitor to do away with needing a TV on my desk as well? Will the AV component cable help with this? If not does anyone know if there's something I can buy to facilitate this?

thanks
Corai

Assuming you have a d-sub connection, just grab a component video to VGA converter, they can be fairly cheap and you can get them in places like PC World in the 'real world' or half the price online.

If you want component to DVI, you're looking at spending a fair bit more and a rather large amount on top of that for a good one

Sorry, I perhaps didn't make myself as clear as I could have, you didn't say if your monitor was vga or dvi, so, just incase you're not sure which one it is,

is vga/d-sub

is what it says on the tin

(ps. sorry if you knew that already :p)

Hi

I have a DVI-D input in my monitor.

Does anyone know what cable I would need?

I bought all the cables and couplers to connect the wii up, but think I bought the wrong DVI cable (it was component to DVI-I).

Would a VGA conveter be an easier option or can I get the right DVI cable?

Thanks for the help!

Brad

I just had a look on ebay for component to vga cables, and the ones i found were all Red, Green and Blue component cables to VGA, not the Red White and Yellow ones like on the Wii which I thought they'd be - then I realised that the Red and White coming from the Wii are audio anyway, they wouldn't go to the VGA port - so now I'm cofused - what would i need to connect the Yellow video signal cable from my Wii into a VGA signal so I could play the wii on the monitor? I'd be very grateful if anyone can put me out of my confusion

You need to buy the Wii component cable in your case; the one that comes with the Wii isn't going to cut it.

Have you set the Wii output to the same input signal frequency?? That is to say if your PC is expecting a 50Hz signal it will ignore a 60Hz signal.
