Nokia N95 8 GB is the best phone ever!!

I'm not really a phone freak, so to speak. As in, I dont spend hours and hours on my phone and dont carry it with me all day long so the size doesnt really bother me that much.
It used to be an issue when I was younger because I never carried a bag and always put my phone and things in my pocket so needed something smaller, but now I carry a lovely big bag with me wherever I go

Sounds like this phone could be worth it for me imo, but then I cant find a suitable tariff. The black looks sooo much nicer than the silver.

after being advised not to get a n95, i got a k850i instead, how i regret my decision. The N95 is the bees knees, best camera, best looking screen, awesome design and it does everything, and i mean everything. i could quite happily sit and watch spidey 3 time and time again on this gorgeous phone.

Whats wrong with your phone kungfu? Does it keep freezing?

I think this is the phone my sister recently got, shes had the model about 4 weeks and has had to change the phone 3 times since she has had it.

To throw another name into the pot, try the HTC Tytn II (titan 2), which is badged as the T-mobile Vario III, Vodafone 1615, O2 Stellar, Orange kept it as Tytn II. It's a fabulous phone that does all that the N95 can, but has the advantage of running on Windows Mobile 6.

Have a look, it won't be the right choice for some, but it's a regularly overlooked handset from a little known manufacturer. HTC are BIG! and have been Microsoft's official handset manufacturer for over 10 years.

If on the other hand you want something a little less geeky, the HTC Touch and the Touch Dual are amazing, full touch screen a la Iphone, with 3G included!

no its fine that way. i just hate the touch screen and the 10 second delay between photos and that the joystick position makes me type texts all wrong. I do like the phone but my k800i was better.

I have a k800i now, probably the most reliable phone Ive had.
Ive just decided to buy a contract with vodafone for the n95 in black will hopefully be receiving it tomorrow!

I have downloaded lots of things for my N95 which makes it even nicer so when you get yours and if you want to pimp it up then let me know! You definitely have to get rotateme

had a look at the Vodafone 1615 and it does NEARLY everything the N95 does but just not as well, for example a big big selling point is the Camera! N95 5mp the vodafone 1615 jobby 2mp. The N95 also has an onboard 3d gfx chip and 8 gigs of storage space.

I downloaded some more applications and my favourite so far is Emtube which is a youtube application . From when you start the program i reckon it takes about 10-15 seconds to be viewing a vid that you have searched for and the beauty of it is you can download them to your phone to keep if you so wish!

Congrats Sarah on your new phone! Given you some links down there for some great applications for you phone. Hopefully you will make use of some of them because they make the phone even better than it is. All the files that you will download are .sis files but some of them wont be signed and you will have to sign them yourself (its very easy I am no computer buff and I managed it in 20 mins) but once you have signed one you can sign them all.

The above link gives you step by step instructions on how to make the certs!

If you are installing themes which are also .sis files and it comes up with a date error then you have to put the clock back on your phone by 1 year and then install the .sis and then put the correct date back.




Below is a great site to get themes for your Nokia95, this is where I got all mine from and the beauty is as you have 8gb you can put whichever ones you wish to on your phone and not worry about space.

Below is the program which will install the accelorometer software onto your phone (which you need to make flipsilent and the others work) and also download the moving ball app as well which helps to showcase the accelerometer. (both linksare at the bottom of the page)

Below is an App called Flip silent, its great instead of having to press a button to stick the phone on silent just Flip the phone over and the same can be done for when your alarm goes off, just flip it and it goes to snooze mode!

Below is an App called Rotate me, Super smashing great application! The Standard N95 from out the box can switch between Portrait and landscape modes but you have to slide the front up or down to do this…. But with this great little application if you put the phone on its side it auto goes to landscape and visa versa if you put the phone upright! It really is cool!!

Below is the Application Nokmote which is good for playing games and also lets you use your phone with minimal button pressing (like the iphone) but they need an update cos the sensitivity is a little too high at the moment.

Youtube application! Mobile youtube users can only receive so much of youtube atm or so they think! Download emtube and you can watch whatever videos you want and save them to your phone which is great for music vidz!! I must admit this will batter your data usage UNLESS you use your Wifi then it costs nothing which is what I was doing while waiting while my boy was at karate on Saturday 

And make sure you download the mobile version of yell.com! I only found out about this tonight. No more phoning 118 118 at £1.50 a go. Its free but uses data but I have used it 3 times today and it only used 7kb of data which is far cheaper than £1.50.

Ive had the phone a day now, and get along with it great, its really cool
Will give some of those applications a try, I wondered why the themes I downloaded never worked for the phone as it said something about a certificate?!

Anywho, would recommend this phone to anyone also, as its a beauty.

One thing that I love about it is the fact that it will play the whole of the song on a message tone instead of cutting off when your a little into it. I sometimes dont hear my phone first time round but having 2 mins worth of a great tune means I have less chance of missing it!

Do you have unlimited internet?
I had the option to choose unlimited internet for an extra £7.50 a month but chose against it, as i didnt think id be using the net much on it!

Less chance of missing it, but maybe more chance of dancing aimlessly around the room everytime somebody sends you a text lol.

The unlimited internet on Vodafone is 120mb fair use policy, so it's not all it's cracked up to be. Don't get me wrong, it's miles better than the 30mb on Orange, but both are well below the 1Gb allowed on T-Mobile Web n walk (3Gb on WnW plus).

Wiiwillywinker: The camera is the main drawback on the HTC, the 8Gb is sorted by a SDHC memory card, 8gb for about £40 now so it's horses for courses really, main 2 differences are the operating system and the full qwerty keyboard on the HTC.

Both are excellent phones though, glad you and Sarah are enjoying the Nokia.
