that could be a good idea ryeb! maybe devote a week to different genre's? anyway anybody into graphic novels out there? the daddy of all graphic novels WATCHMEN is being made into a film at last lets hope its good and follows the story (unlike league of extrordinary gentle men)

i loved sin city probably my favourite comic book film so far (im a big fan of the comics too!) cant wait for the sequel to come out! i enjoyed 300 its on my christmas list and hope to 30 days of night when released on dvd!

Popped in to Cex yesterday and bought Barry Lyndon. Haven't watched it yet, but have heard great things about it, so hopefully I wont be disappointed.

Let you know when I've watched it, and hopefully someone else here will too.

This is what i meant about a jumpy thread, but youve asked a question so ill give you an answer.
In my younger days (about 13 years ago) i was an avid reader of the mighty graphic novel and imo the greatest ever was "Song of the Surfer" which was based around the skysurfer Chopper from the 2000AD universe.

Have read a bit of watchmen and cant wait to see the film if they stay close to the source material.

I honestly didn't think they were any good, but to be honest, I haven't watched all of them. Maybe they got better.

I also agree with Ryeb on this one, it's going to be a very jumpy and confusing thread if it stays this way. It's a good idea Ed00, it just needs some re-thinking.

ive neglected 2000ad abit over the years for some srange reason i'll keep an eye out for "song of the surfer" im always looking for some good graphic novels to read! staying on topic im reading preacher at the mo which has also been scheduled to be made into a film now aslong as they stay totaly adult this could be great!

Seeing as many of the posters keep talking about horrors I think this week should be a horror week (from this Wed - to next Wed). I don't know if this will work but if you want to be specific about things then this week could be about slashers (violent horrors) but it's up to you!

right then lets start off the horror week with scream! i'd pretty much given up on the horror genre till scream came out! i loved the early friday the 13/ halloweens but they had definitley gotten stale! then scream came out and revitalised it all it had some great ideas and twists in it pity they had to drag it out to number three
