but anywayz where am i headin with this u ask?

hoodys = intimadating (according to the goverment) which is very debatable...

my side is i cant be that intimadating with my hood up as jus 15mins ago i was by barclays checkin my balance on a machine and there was an old man standin at one of them, i gt my hood up headphones blazin DnB n a rolly in my hand...fit the discription of a "intimadting Hoody / Chav" correct?

well how comes this old man wasnt intimadated at all and asked me to help him get some money out as he was avin trouble puttin his card in (it was the wrong way bless him)

and i of course helped him out and he didnt ask me to look away wen he went to put his pin in but i told him ill look at way! ( coz i aint gna mug him )


now surely the goverment r trying to say that people would b afraid to talk to me and try to avoid me as they would think i was gna mug dem give them abuse n probs av about 10 asbos and regard them as Medal Of Honours ..i dnt av one btw!

anywayz i was jus so amazed dat this old guy wasnt afraid at all, wen the goverment are trying to say were intimedating and "ban hoodys"

well SCREW U mr Blair!!

right im gonna go find Lady Sovereigns campeign to save the hoody and post it on this thread with the hope of getting so more names on the petition!!!

Your one story, theres countless other more tragic stories out there in which hoodies/chavs have caused violence or disturbed the peace.

The reason hoodies scare people is because they can't see who you are. In a group you look like an assortment of grim reapers.

It's just one of these things. A lot of 'intimidating' people wear a hooded top to hide there identity and they believe it makes them look 'hard'. I think most people will have a hoody in there wardrobe, but that doesn't mean that we're all going to mug people.
It's just negative steriotyping. Similar could be said about the current muslim bombings, just because it's mainly people of this ethnisisity that have been caught does that mean that we should suspect them all????
Course not, but it does (unfortunately) make sense for the authorities to take this factor in when profiling people, same as they will do for hooded thugs, they will asses you on many things - body movements, use of language, etc - but you can't expect them to not take into account how you look.

I work for a city (london) based company where most people are suited and booted and I wear hoodies to work :-)

Where I live in Essex you couldnt walk down the road without bumping into a gang of hoodies, but I dont feel intimated by them - its because the media have nothing to talk about... its better than people walking around with bats and knives....

I think that's half the problem. A fair percentage of the hooded gangs DO have bats and knives!!!!

Or as the new favourite seems to be amung the teenage 'gangs'.... guns!

minutes after postin this i read the sun...one the articles headlines "3 hoodies chuck man off train" so now insted of them bein criminals there hoodies?! doesnt even say in the article that they were even wearing hoodies!!! its jus a new name for criminal!!!

well theyve got to have something to blame it on havent they :p the sun are idots anyway and imo groups of yobbo's came from bad parenting if the parents were there ther'd be much less yobo groups but the stupid idots at #10 think it because of a type of clothing......whats that i smell???..............
