I think my editing rocks!!!!
I take loads of pictures and vids with my phone and just lately i have started to use the functions on the phone to edit some of them and now i think i produce pretty good vids. This was just a 30 second clip before i touched it up! Touched it up, it took me an hour and a hlaf to make it
The main input i think belongs to someone else though!
Its a tribute to my son also who at the grand old age of 5 can also answers to the name of FSKA under 6`s World club champion and South west open championships 9th kyu under 10`s (he is 5) bronze medal winner! i may sound like im blowing his trumpet here but apparently he does have a special talent so as his father i can
Wouldnt you.....
Anyway this thread was created regarding the editing of the vid done all on my phone whilst on the bus/train in the bath

He is pretty lethal now I think i enjoy messing with the vids in the same way that the guys on here like doing the Sigs for other people. I think im gonna buy myself some sort of new digicam thing and a new PC and do some sort of course. I was gutted though because i didnt know my phone had a zoom on it until a work colleague pointed out it did have a zoom all the time :( I want a new camera but with my phones software on it though as its for simple people like me.....
i used to do live visual mixing, basicly like djing but with video, it was in a local music venue so a band would be on stage and id be in my booth, what we had was three live feed cameras to a mixing desk 4 tvs and vhs machines, 3 tvs show what each camera sees, 1 shows what the screens by the stage show, which could be recorded to vhs and sold to the band. this was very cool but i also have a set up at home, pc with fire wire link to my video camera.
anyway best tip i was given was stay away from cheesy fx! most software comes with banks of fx, some you even have to buy extra, anyway these will degrade your videos professional look, only use them if the customer wants that or it fits the videos style! For instance a screen that flys in and spins into view can work well for a football match action replay, but imagine if the matrix was cut like that! a reverse on this is starwars, those cheesy fx work well between sceens, the circle fades etc, but just wouldnt work in eastenders!
starting out isnt too hard, buy a cheep DV camera old hat but good quality in my opinion but make sure it has firewire, a pc, some software like pinnical studio 8 (think thats the dv one) which comes with a firewire port to installed in your computer (i believe) make sure you have a big quick hard drive too, 250gb would be fine. then have fun, it really is simple, plug camera in switch it on then dont touch it, every thing you need, play fast forward etc can be controled with the pc, click record and it will copy the video to the pc, cut the clip about, add titles, music and fx if you wish then you can save the output back to the camera with out quality loss or make vodeo files etc. if you need any help pm me, i can hook you up in more detail, might have old software you can start with to save you £80ish before you take the plunge

Wow cheers bootnut! Im looking to do exactly what you said and pick up a DV camera and go from there, im gonna have a shop around as im not exactly in a hurry, but im sure to come knocking on your door when i need some advice and i will need plenty of it
Glad you like the vid, took me ages to do. Basically i had to do it all by trial and error as you dont get even the simplest things to help you out like timelines and stuff. If it didnt cut right then i just had to start the whole process again which is why it took me about 2 hours to do the 3 minute clip, but i enjoy doing it so it wasnt a chore.
YouTube - round and round and round This one i tried to create a loop so it goes on for ever and ever, it nearly nearly works which makes it look like those kids have so much energy that they just go on forever
