Default Internet browser

I've been round my sisters the past couple of nights, scratching my head trying to get their ADSL router to work with Tiscali, and even now it still drops the connection from the computer that its hard wired to, Anyway, i digress...

I set up their laptop wirelessly, no problem. I set up the Wii wirelessly (getting practice for when i get mine!), no problem. Seems i have major hand shaking problems though (getting old?!?). That Wii on screen keyboard is a ***** to use! Somebodys gotta bring out a Wiiboard and sharpish!.

So lets get to the main point of my post. The Opera Browser, a tad disappointing to say the least. Yes i know its in the Beta stage but boy does it suck! Its just so blurry! Is a component cable likely to improve the situation? what do you think????

Yes i can zoom in, but i think thats kind of defeating the object, i like to see the whole page when typing in. Zoom in is too much zooming, too close for comfort!

Component cable.
The big change when I use mine is that I specifically don't have to zoom in anymore (although, to be fair, I hardly use the wii for internet anyway)

Component cable does clear things up a bit but you are still going to find it hard to see certain things when zoomed out, the Wii just aint capable (so far) of a decent resolution for viewing the web.
Try to stick to sites designed for use in Wii, they're built big so it helps

I regularly use the browser to watch Youtube, specifically Red vs Blue vids. What bothers me most is the black borders around the screen. Why are they there? Just seems like a bit of a waste when, if they filled the screen and zoomed a little, the text might become somewhat more readable...

Remember it's still the Trial version. I'm sure all issues will be resolved in the full version.

This is what i am hoping Craig.

A component cable is on the ticklist, after i find a copy of Wii Play that won't break the bank!!!

I do hope the full version is better. I was going to get my PC to run through my new telly but turns out i have a very basic graphics card which doesn't run S-Video so can't do that. Kinda hoped the Wii would be a good alternative to get the net on my TV

Can you also fileshare with the main PC through a router?

So many questions, and still 15 days to go until i get hold of the Wii itself!

I'm quite impressed with the brower, not had any problems with it. I dont notice the blurriness, but then I have it on a 14inch tv so its not got the greated detail anyway, cant see anything with out the zoom!

The only thing I think should be included is something which is on the ds browser and i'm surprised its not on this version, is the endings to the web sites (dont know if they have proper names) the .com and .co.uk bits, where they are all lined up and you click which one you want. A bit less typing always goes down well with me!

They're called TLD's (top-level domains) and I'm sure the Wii browser has this option as well as predictive text, when on the keyboard screen press the button in the top right of the keyboard and words should appear to the left of it while typing.

With most websites you dont have to bother with the .com/.co.uk bit. Just type the name of the website, for example BBC.
