My Friend is having an error installing WarioWare D.I.Y I gifted him
Hey, I'm new to the forum and hope this is the right place to post this. If not, I'm real sorry and hope some moderator won't mind moving this into the correct place for me and forgive my silliness
I today purchased WarioWare D.I.Y for my friend as a gift to his Wii. He told me he tried installing it but got an "error 204036" error. Some say the servers are busy and some say It's because I got a chipped console. I don't want my money to go to waste so do you think someone could help? The wii is totally unmodified, no cracks or chips or anything illegal or warez. I used my credit card to purchase 1000 points and gift the game to him genuinely.
Start by having a look on the Nintendo Support pages, and if that doesn't help you could ring them on 01753 483700 which is cheaper than the official 0870 number but gets you through to the same switchboard. Lastly you might want to try sending them an email at: NINTENDOservicecentre@codestorm.co.uk

Thanks for the e-mail address. I will contact them now.
I'm not really a phone user if you guys get what I mean. I've emailed twice on that e-mail given above and the e-mail is on my safe senders yet no reply.

I'm not sure that I do get what you mean. Usually support email addresses from companies would at the very least send back an autoresponse and then get back to you shortly after. Have you read through the information on the Nintendo UK web site?
You can find lots of information there like this on the Wii Shop Channel, an interview with the developers on how to send gifts using the Wii Shop channel and most importantly the Wii Shop Q&A section where in section 3 it explains what will happen if you send a gift and it is not downloaded.
In your case you need to tell your friend to decline the gift, when he does the credits will be refunded to your Wii Shop account.
