Nah, I like TG16 better

I think nintendo just needs to enable the ability to plug in external hard drives. Like nutter said, then they could release a wide variety of consoles. I personally think that if you wanted a DC game, then you could probably go somewhere and pick it up for maybe 5 quid.

This is true, but I am having serious space issues with getting old consoles out. I already have the Wii and PS2 connected to the TV permanantly. There just isn't enough room for another console to sit there. It would mean digging the DC out, setting it all up and just to play a game for a coupla hours. Then it's all got to go back again. Time and space are real factors for me unfortunately.

Surely Nintendo would have considered the add-on extra memory already, and if not (because they didn't realise how popular the downloadable back-titles are), in the near future. Anywhere extra profits can be made surely will be looked at. Otherwise it is not a business (at least not a good one!).

TBH I'd love Nintendo to make the Wii ableto read DC games - then I could dust off my disks and pop them in! Phantasy Star was one of my fave all time games and although the online servers are no longer around it's still fun offline.

Heres a list of games i found to be released on the VC in future weeks/months

NES: Bio Miracle, Chase HQ, City Connection, Devil World, Dig Dug, Smash Ping Pong, Spelunker, Spy v Spy
SNES: Axelay, DoReMi Fantasy, Super Mario RPG, Super Turrican 2
MEGA DRIVE: Forgotten Worlds, Phantasy Star IV, Splatterhouse 2, Strider, Super Fantasy Zone
TURBOGRAFX 16: Dragon Slayer (Legend of Heroes), Y's Book 1 & 2
COMMODORE 64: Cybernoid, International Karate+, Summer Games 2

One thing i cant understand though, why was Super Mario 2 (The Lost Levels) taken off?

I really don't get why they keep putting 8-bit ports of arcade games out. Why not just put a version of MAME on the VC and release the ACTUAL arcade ROMs on the VC? That's what I'd like to see more than another console. I've got a couple hundred arcade ROMs; I'd gladly pay to play them on the Wii instead of my iBook.

I just realised I didn't put my console desires:

Atari 2600, Yar's Revenge + the Activision titles, M-Network, Imagic, the list goes on and on and on forever. Largest software catalogue for any console in existence! Just put Stella on there and let us use our own ROMs (Homebrew scene will no doubt get to it eventually).

Atari 5200/8-bit computers. Many of these games are also on C64, but some aren't like Dreadnaught for the 5200. Small catalogue, but some gems there.

Mattel Intellivision. Had a load of exclusives; there was a Gamecube collection in the States -- hell, I'd be satisfied if they just opened up the GC mode for region-free play!

DOS. X-COM/UFO Enemy Unknown -- do I need to say more than that?

Sadly even if Nintendo did add external hard disks and DC games, you would not be able to play any original DC discs, as that would require a separate drive.

Yars Revenge was a dreadful game, either shoot or eat a block surrounding a T-Shape and then sit in the middle colourful bar if it dared fire a missile at you. I remember playing it and just giving up because I couldn't die.

Now Adventure, Superman and Surround were true classics.

Intellivision was an amazing machine at the time but I can only really remember Space Battle where you warped into different sections to stop enemies attacking your space stations, whatever I did I couldn't save all the space stations one always was destroyed.
