Iplayer on the Wii

Is the Iplayer for the Wii actually working? At the moment when I go to the BBC website and select the Iplayer I can get the radio stations no problem, but when I select the videos and press the play button it says there is a problem.

I just seem to get buffering all the time where as I dont on any of my pcs

I was pleasantly surprised this week when I tried iPlayer on the Wii to see if it had improved.

It has! I was able to watch programmes without lag or pauses. A half hour programme only paused ONCE to buffer. It was brilliant. The frame rate is a little slow, but it is very viewable, EVEN ON FULL SCREEN!

Obviously the men at the Beeb have been very busy working on this. I wonder if they might be preparing to launch the iPlayer Channel on the Wii - although I don't have room for it!

Hey sue its working fine for me now as well, although I do fine the low fps a little painful to watch.

Cant wait for the dedicated player to arrive!

My wife just dropped our laptop on the floor a few days ago and my PC is currently under construction so the wii is a god sent at the moment.

Just went out and bought a cheap wireless keyboard from pc world. Makes typing stuff like this a lot easier!

Ooo I will have to try Iplayer when I get home.. I was having trouble before I got my 10Mb Broadband then since I got 10Mb it buffered so fast So the buffering was not a problem, last time I checked was about 3-4 weeks ago and it was the low fps rate that wasnt the best for me still. I hope this has improved more, I will try tonight Great news overall that they are actually still trying to improve it for us.

The fps is still too low for me. It needs to be encoded properly.

Just fixed the laptop!!! turn out one of the RAM slots is broke. the other works fine so just off to pc world for some more ram.
