Default wii ware

Hi, My daughter has just downloaded "My Pokemon Ranch" from nintendo on the wii ware channel. Now the Wii does not respond to any of the wiimotes and she cannot do anything with the Wii. I have tried to re-synch the wiimotes, but cannot do anything with it. Has anyone had the same experience, or know any way to resolve this? Any help would be really appreciated.

Very strange... have you tried to re-sync using the red button inside the Wii (where the SD card would go the red button) and the Wii motes red sync button where the batteries go? Or do you mean you have tried to re-connect the Wii mote by pressing the "Home" button and "Connect" (if you get me)

Also try turning the Wii off for about 2-3 mins or check batteries... these are all the simple things I can think of?

But there are many more helpful people on WiiTalk so stick around and I am sure you problem will get resolved

Oh... Welcome to WiiTalk

It has happend to me twice that the wiimote wouldn't respond at all. Pulled the plug out for 2 min and it worked fine again.

I guess you could give that a try as well.

Hi Ricksta, I tried re-synching using the red buttons on the wiimote and the slot where the SD card is. I tried using the "Home" button, but there was no response. I also tried unpluging the Wii, but so far nothing has worked. Thanks for the replies so far.

Leave it unplugged overnight. Hopefully it'll sort itself out in the morning.

If it doesn't give Nintendo a call. They are open 7 days a week. They'll either sort it out over the phone or arrange to collect it and get it fixed.

Good luck. Please keep us informed.

Hi biddenden sue, I left the Wii unplugged overnight and surprisingly it allowed me to re-synch the wiimotes. I have no idea why it did this, but now appears to be fixed. Thank you to all the people who offered suggestions and thanks for the warm welcome.

As with all electroic equipment, occassionally you get either a build up of heat or static which causes the machine to freeze up and fail to respond.

A period of being completely unplugged often cures this, but occassionally it is more serious and requires fixing.

I was 99% certain that it would work again in the morning.

I hope you stick around - we're a friendly bunch.
