Virtual Console and Wii ChannelsForum to discuss aspects of the Wii Virtual Console / Wii Channel and what to expect from it and its future game releases
No Classic Controller support and every control mode uses motion which is superfluous in this game.
I will note that this is the home version and not the arcade (I had thought NeoGeo consoles used the same ROMs as the arcades), so you don't get to toggle the colour of the blood (or turn it on/off), or choose the language/region and you don't get to insert coin or bump up the number of credits. Now I pride myself on having completed Metal Slug 1-3 on less than 10 credits (each), but the VC version gives you four and that's all she wrote. It will certainly be a challenge!
Well now nintendo has officially screwed me over. I tried buying some points but I got an error twice. It charged my card and when I called Ninty they said that it isn't their fault. "It is just awaiting charge." Looks like it is time to call the Giftcard company.
No, unfortunately. They do have a number I can call that should be able to do it. The thing that really upsets me is that this means that I can't get the game. Looks like I will have to go buy a WiiPoint card
Do people feel like WiiWare will eat into their disc-game budget? I've got a couple of pre-orders, but something like WiiWare is so much easier than buying a disc that if quality stuff started coming out hard and fast I could see choosing two or three WiiWare titles over a disc-based game.
Do people feel like WiiWare will eat into their disc-game budget?
LONG ANSWER: Actually I find it easier to buy the downloadable games because the initial outlay of £3.50-£10 a game is much easier to budget for than £30-£40. I find it more difficult to part with the loot if I'm unsure about whether it'll be value for money. So, I've actually spent more than I would have done on games overall with the VC and could easily see this happening with WiiWare titles.
SHORT ANSWER:No, it will be additional to the budget.
