Quick question re links.....

I have searched regarding this but couldn't find any relevant threads.

I just wondered how you change the name of a link, so instead of say http:/www.willtalk.co.uk/forums/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=3 it would say 'Take a look at this' or something.

Any help would be appreciated.

On reply "Go Advanced"

get your link (highlight and control-C)

click on the link button above and paste (control-v)

you will see your link inserted twice... in the highlighted section simply overtype that with whatever you want to say.

Alternatively you can type up your message in the advanced section, highlight a word or phrase, then with it highlighted click on the link button and insert your link and the words you just highlighted will be the link itself.

[ u r l= PUTYOURLINKHERE] put the text you want it to say here [ / url]
WITH NO SPACES ATALL! (apart from this bit ^^^^^^^^^^^)

you put url= and then paste the link into the first brackets, whatever text you want in the middle, then /url in the second brackets.

Its what wiihelp was trying to say but hopefully a bit clearer!!

Just on a similar note, which occured to me the other day... when copying and pasting links from another part of the forum, it automatically renames the link to the title of the thread you're linking to, which I thought was a pretty cool function.

An easier way is to simply type what you want to call it like HERES MY LINK, highlight it with you mouse and then click on the icon and it will do the job for you!
