We read many times that the forums are kept tidy by several methods,locking threads e.t.c.
I would like to make a suggestion,reduce the size of the signatures.
The majority of users have a small picture (see example below) and a couple of lines of text which is fine,but at least one member has a picture that takes up half the screen, this is distracting and in my view totally pointless,if we all posted huge pictures the forums would be a total mess.
yeah i think this is a good point. ones like foofans and mine are ok. i mean someone currently has a half screen sized heatseeker signature, which is super annoying especially on some threads where he/she is talking every other comment. it becomes super annoying and puts me of reading the thread.

When I see a sig that is too long, I usually PM the user to let them know, and give them a chance to shorten it themselves. If that doesn't work, I just edit it myself.

That's right. One of the rules/guidelines stated "To keep the forum running smoothly, please keep your signature size to a maximum of 500 by 100 pixels or 5 lines of text."
Us mods and admins don't want to end up being too heavy handed so I don't think we will be 'telling people off' for having 6 or 7 lines worth of signature.
Just as long as things don't get out of hand we will kind of leave this to the members to keep their signatures to a minimum.
I must admin having a signature that fills up half the screen is not the best idea as it fills up the thread with the same image over and over and over again...
Doylan please do not think I'm having a go at you but its your signature below that i referred to earlier,i just don't see the point and if we all had pictures this size we would only get 3 posts per page.

I totally agree with what you're saying and it sounds like the mods are keeping track of it as well.
I also find massive pics a bit annoying in posts, it's easy enough to copy it into paint, make it smaller, save it and then upload it at a better size.
Or if you can't be bothered with all that just post the link to the image...
