I would like to see stricter enforcement of rule 11. (see below)
The use of text typing is getting more widespread and again is annoying the members, you only need to read the "Calls for Moderation" thread to see a perfect example.
This subject has been discussed before in another forum and the majority of members who posted agreed that it need sorting.
A member was recently banned for persistently using text typing even though he had been warned several times.
No one likes to see anyone banned but if someone persists then there is no other option, maybe a polite warning would do the job.
I doubt many of us read through all the rules when signing up so members probably do not know the rules exists.
11. Please post using proper English, rather than "text talk".

I try my best to keep text talk to a minimum. However, some people do tend to over-react sometimes, when the odd word, like '2' instead of 'to' is used. The occasional word is fine, but if someone's post is so unreadable (?) because of text talk, then they will be warned.
Having the odd word abbreviated (if that's spelt correctly) is fine in my mind but a whole post using TXT TLK is just daft as that kind of text is fine for mobile phones where its quicker and easier to type fewer characters, but in a forum where there is plenty of room for you to type what you want to say then I think it is unnecessary and it takes longer to read such posts.

and that's what people don't want to see

Being dislexic and txt tlk are two completely different things! Poor spelling etc. is not penalised on this forum as it is a Wii forum and not a literacy forum!
I share the seemingly majority view that the occasional "text speak" word is fine, I mean everyone (mostly) knows what the person is trying to say. Although it does get annoying when a whole post is written in "text speak".
I think a waring system would work well, if someone is disobeying the rules (in a big way and not just once or twice) then they receive a warning and if they do not correct their ways they get either a second warning or a three day ban.
That's my two pence worth anyway.
On a totally different matter. Wii-Man, I absolutely love your avatar! I've just bought all the Red Dwarf series after trying to find all my lost disks, so I just noticed it. Just thought I would say.

I find that difficult to believe and have heard it used as a excuse so many times its becoming annoying.
Typing u instead of you is nothing to do with being dyslexic its being lazy, read through your post below and imagine how annoying it is for the rest of us to try to decipher.
I am in total agreement with others here the odd M8 is acceptable.

Hmm yeah this has become a bit of a problem again recently. It's only 1 or 2 users that use this kind of talk continuously, but it's still frustrating trying to read it all.
And Doylen, I sympathize if you are Dyslexic and wouldn't have a go at you because of that, but remember the forum has a Spell Checker (Towards the top right of the post screen) that would surely help you with your posts?
I use it all the time!
