Instant Chat - WiiTalk

I think if it is possible that we should ahve an instant chat room for members only on the site. lets just hope we dont attract the wrong kinds of poeple =S

I'd be more than happy to set up and moderate a mIRC channel. I have extensive admin experience.

Plus I'm a mIRC scripter

Awaiting the general opinion on this one.

Im not sure to be honest... lots of people will end up just chatting in there and not adding to the forum...?

It probably wouldn't be a good idea. I visit other forums and most of the times the chat rooms don't really get use that often. It seems people prefer to post in the threads.

I think you are right.

However, what you could do is set up a chatroom on the forum and once a month or so have a particular topic that is to be discussed with extractions from the chat posted on the forum for people to then comment on?

Just a thought...

effectively wii_man's idea, but also tieing in with the no-chatroom idea.

Someone suggested that on my website, i turned it down as no one would chat on the forums as posted above
