I have noticed that a few users have been getting neg repped with that("Pointless") as the comment and while I don't agree with what the person is doing personally(I think they should justify why they neg repped that person as fully as possible), I also don't think it's a good idea to punish that person for doing so.
If we, as moderators, were to moderate the rep system, there would barely be any point of it at all. What I will say though is that we can check who gives rep, negative or positive, to any member. So they may be reducing your rep points, but they are also reducing the amount of respect they get from the forum staff.
The important thing is to not let rep become anywhere near a big part of posting on this forum. We are all part of a community here and any member with any rep is just as important as the next.
That's certainly how I view everyone anyway.

You have no idea how close I was to neg repping that with 'pointless'
I also think it works both ways as well. Although neither of them are really important, unjustified neg rep is the same as unjustified positive rep really.

If we all worried about rep, there'd be some really good members disappointed. I don't really care one way or the other. I'm on another forum and I don't think people even know you can rep. I've been there for a year and I've only received 2 reps.
