I know that people might just throw this back and maybe have a go at me for suggesting this, but I was thinking there could be a chat box for this website. What dya guys think?
We had one - you'll find a thread linking to it if you look. Problem was, no one ever went there, so it kind of died a death.

Yes it would be chaos for the mods. Just imagine 50 or so members online. If things get heated, it's just going to get mad. And when you post a message it will disappear in a few minutes due to the amount of people posting in it.
Tbh, I don't see the need in a chat box on a forum anyway. Yes, it might be easier when you want a random conversation, but msn and others will help you with that.
Well, not to impose or anything, but there is chatbox software called Xat which I have used and works really well.
There is a special heirarchy to it to. There is the main owner, which is the person who made it. They can change the background, change settings, and appoint normal owners. Normal owners are people who appoint mods. They can also delete comments that they find bad. Next are mods. These can ban or kick people, and change the ranks of guests and members. Then there are members. In a members only chat box, this is the lowest rank you can be and post. Then there are guests. Everyone is one of these by default, and in a member only chat, these people can't chat and can't even see what others are saying. You can also start private chats with people, and the entire concept works very well. The only thing is that since we could make it members only to reduce spam, we would have to have some mods on alot. It would also be easy to maybe replace the WiiTag link at the top with a wiichat. The only drawback to this chat is that it requires flashplayer 9, which means you cant use it on your wii.
If you want to see what the chatbox looks like, you can look at it here. Just ignore the rest of the site, it was a failure.
