As the subject says, I have just bought a PS3 (combined with other members of my family) and it's surprisingly not to bad.
I was not really expecting this but there it is.
I'm mainly using it for the media capabilities, as I have a PSP so I can stream music around the house. I did buy Resistance Fall of Man though and I must say the graphics are impressive...but not as good as the Wii in general fun and innovative play, so sorry Sony but the Wii has it for me!
The graphics are good but in all seriousness you can't beat the wii for the fun factor.

Yeah, I don't think the PS3 or the Xbox 360 should be mocked - they are both very good consoles. But they serve a different purpose to the Wii.
As I may have mentioned before, I have raised my family to enjoy the fun aspect of the Nintendo consoles - they are much more multi-player orientated and create a much more fun atmosphere for playing with friends/at a party etc.
The PS3 does indeed have great graphics, High Def video output, 5.1 audio, and the ability to play Blu-Ray discs, making it a great investment for anyone wanting to start a Blu-Ray collection, that also likes hardcore realistic graphic gaming. But the chances are they'll be sitting alone in a dark room slaughtering aliens or whatever while us Wii owners are taking it in turns to play games like Boogie, Wario Ware, Wii Sports etc and laughing our heads off!

PS3 is a superb console. The main reason that it has been mocked so much by people is becase of its high price. Of course it cant match the fun factor of the Wii but then again the Wii is far from matcing the picture quality of PS3. If all console were the same it wouldnt be much fun, would it...
As I said in the first post, it is not as fun as the Wii, but is good for media functions and Blu-Ray. The Wii is just so much fun to play that I personally don't think it can be topped!
People always miss the features that ps3 has. The higher of memory the PS3 has the better the graphics are. I think the graphics for the PS3 are better than the Xbox360. The PS3 allows you to listen to music, watch videos, watch movies, browse pictures, and internet browser.
When you go on the internet browser you can actually download stuff. Like music and videos(that what i do all the time.) You can always buy a little keypad so if you wanna go on aim or msn you can chat to your friends.
You can play people online if you have internet connection like the wii and unlike the xbox. You have to buy xbox live wich that sucks because you have to pay for it.
People really need to stop complaining about the price. Just beacuase the ps3 price is high people just go ahead and buy an xbox. I would never do that in my life. Sure..... i thought about it but no. I mean im not saying i dont like xboxes. There pretty cool and fun but i like the PS3 more because of the better graphics and the better features.
But, i guese you can say the wii is the best consolde. So much more creativity it has with the controls. Nintendo showed Sony and microsoft that you dont need better graphics and all that other nice features.
I'm guessing you mean me? I have a 37 inch Hitachi HD LCD TV. Res: 1200 1000 or something along those lines, I also have the PS3 hooked up using a HDMI lead which obviously helps.
