Right, I've owned my PS2 for 2 years, but have only just connected it to my router, which has just recently been positioned close to the TV so that the Wii could connect wirelessly to it.
Connected via a network cable (got the slimline PS2 so it has the connection in the back)
Registered at playstation.com with serial number and model number, and set up an online handle etc. Have had email confirmationf rom them that the account is set up.
It mentions in the leaflet and at the online registration page about a free Network Access disc, including full version of a game called "Hardware - Online Arena" plus a PS2 Demo Disc. Do those get posted out to you automatically, or do I need to do something else now?
Also if I insert a game that says "With Network Play" on the front, will it just connect online if I select that option, or will I need to do anything else?
The manual really doesn't cover this topic, so I could do with some guidance.
Cheers, guys.

Hi sue!
You do need to have a network access disk, it goes thru a network setup and saves the settings, you only need to do it the first time and that's it! I borrowed one off a mate but like you said they give you them for free anyway!
As for playing online you just insert the game and choose the online play part and it does it all for you!
Hope this helps!
Well, that wa sa month ago and I still haven't had the netowrk disc etc that they were supposed to send me free in the post.
So even if I wanted to get online, I still couldn't.
I actually disconnected the RJ45 lead again a while ago as I decided it was a non-starter!

my brother had a standard PS2, and he got SOCOM, it came with a headset and network adapter to attach to the back. i think he got the disks with socom / network adapter.
are you sure you didnt get the disc with your PS2 originally and its not been mislaid?
could try searching the net to see if it can be downloaded and burnt to a disc, or if somebody could lead you one.
