PS3: worth it?

Should I get one?
I know blue ray and graphics are amazing, but it's a little costly. But is it worth it?

not at the moment. not many top games out, and the top ones are out on xbox 360 anyway,

It's really a matter of whether you can afford it.

There's no way I'd pay over £400 for a games console. But I don't have an LCD or Plasma telly in the living room, so I couldn't use the Blu-ray/Hi Def function, so to me it is a total waste of money.

If you have the right equipment to get the most from it and intend to start buying Blu-ray DVDs to watch on it, then I think you'll find it is just about the cheapest Blu-Ray player on the market, and then suddenly well worth the cost.

It's up to you and your bank balance at the end of the day!

i don't think its worth it, it is far too expensive, there are not enough games and I don't find it entertaining

Im a casual gamer and wanna come home from work and spend half an hour on a game that amuses me when i have the time. I don't have a big hi-def tv and why do i want bluray? DVD is good enough for me!

Im gonna go with maybe Yes cos i think it will come good and the packages you can get now are pretty good.

I have been swaying a little aswell because i have always stuck with sony and nintendo and i dont like microsoft much. But i was impressed by the 360 and there are loads of games available for it.

I will get the PS3 first though and purchase a 360 at a later date!!

I agree that the 360 has the better choice of games (at the moment). The reason im not getting a 360 is the reliability. Nearly half of consoles get the red ring of death. Not worth the risk

Imo the PS3 is certainly not worth the current price tag, even with its specs.

Until Sony rethink their plan of attack and think of an official price reduction, i just can't see it picking up where the PS2 left off...

In my mind the Playstation 3 is a massive waste.
It's just a playstation 2 with higher specs, Higher internet capabilities, and it's a waste. The online gaming side of it, consists of what seems to be the same as Xbox Live. And viewing the internet is much like a computer.

Not many games out for it at all. Only things like Spiderman 3, and others which I can't remember.

All in all, It's an OK console, I have some faults with it but thats just me.
I just wish SEGA and Nintendo and Microsoft were the only companies.
