did anyone get and invite to the public beta? if you downloaded the killzone 2 theme from the ps store then that automatically entered you into the draw so if you havnt already check your email as they were only sent out this evening. i was in the closed beta and get automatic entry into the public beta so i cant give any code away (as i dont have one because i already have it and id be mad too anyway!!)

Welcome to the latest episode of Check Your E-mail Accounts with Kotaku. Today's post will be discussing the public Killzone 2 beta, in which PlayStation Underground members can now partake. The beta's been open to a select group of PlayStation 3 owners for a while now, but a new batch of invites have gone out to players, dozens of whom read Kotaku and tipped us off to its expanded audience. Check all your e-mail accounts, kids, and keep an eye peeled for the glowing Helghast eyes that grant admission to the beta.

Don't talk to me about beta keys for this OR Resistance2! Neither of mine arrived when they were supposed to be certain to so-gutted. Was meant to get into R2 with both a subscription and a pre order of the collectors edition and for Killzone2 I'm in a similar spot(downloaded the theme as well, now I think about it!). What makes it worse is my mates had his PS3 about three months and got into both just by registering on the official sites and until recently he was the biggest Lemming ever!

Still, I have played both over at his andcan say that while I was really impressed by the scope of Resistance I'm absolutely in awe of just how good Killzone2 looks esp for an unfinished product. It really is stunning.

the first review from OPM america and killzone scores top marks unable to get a scan at moment (then again iv played it so i already new it was amazing) but i dont like to go on about it lol

Killzone 2 may not be out until the end of Feburary, however the first reviews are showing up and US based magazine PlayStation: The Official Magazine has given the title full marks 5/5.

Some quotes from the review include:

“The buddies alongside you in each battle have been expertly tuned to provide just enough cover and support to actively get your back on occasions, while never making it feel like they could acchieve every objective alone.”

“…the believability and consistency are hallmarks of the Killzone 2 expereince. None of the circumstances, weapons you find, locations you visit, or frankly any of the details in the world feel arbitrary. The world is consistently realized in its unappealing flavor.”

“…filled with moments that can handily be described as inspiring awe”

- bots in offline multiplayer “perform pretty well”

“Without a doubt Killzone fans, action, and shooter fans of any stripe will instantly tag this sequel as a powerful contender for the best game of 2009″

Scans will be posted when we get them, however its nice to know that Killzone 2 is getting the great reviews.

its penciled in for the 27th feb at the moment but knowing sony there will be some drama maybe a controversial song that shouldnt be in there

oh i have sources that suggest that there is a demo coming sometime in january most likely exclusive codes on pre order sites such as game doubt it will be on psn they are already releasin a demo for gamestop pre orders in america on january 5th!
