MGS 4 - It isn't a game...

I am no stranger to the MGS series. I have played and completed the previous main 3 but this one just goes over the top.

There isn't much game here... I have just finished Act 3 and it literally is best described as interactive film. You walk a few steps then have a 5min codec scene, walk a few more steps then get a 5 min cutscene, walk a few more steps and get a 2 min cutscene, get to your location and then get a 30 min cutscene...

that is just how the game goes... I am enjoying it as I like and understand most of the mgs story line but I really advise anyone else to stay clear of it otherwise you may find yourself bored during it...

I am determined to watch every second of cut scene to understand the plot and see what happens to all the characters I have grown to love for the last 10 or so years but it is trying my patience.

(I searched for MGS4 / Metal Gear Solid 4 / MGS 4 so if there is another thread then sorry)

I had heard it was a bit of a cut scene-athon

Id probs be engrossed as well just to get the full story, but i can guess it would be a bit disheartning for newbies.

I think anyone who has read the slightest bit of info on MGS4 will know this isn't a face paced, shoot em up kind of game. As it says on the box 'tactical espionage'.

I'd never played a metal gear game and loved it. I thought the cut scenes etc were excellent. The game has gone further than any other game I know, in that it is a kind of interactive film. If you didn't have the cut scenes and high level of information, it would be just another run of the mill game imo.

BTW, I completed it on Normal, and immediately started playing it again on Hard. It is quality

I thnik it is a brilliant game and the best this year but the cuts are abit long but if you dont like waiting around just skip them

I havn't played this game, but I don't think it got a perfect score (only achieved by 7 other games) in a gaming magazine for nothing.
