Getting the PS3 - WiiTalk

Right so the decision has been made. Despite no backward compatibility really bugging me, I will be getting the 40GB PS3... Once I can afford it, so hopefully some of my stuff on here and amazon will sell, to permit my buying a PS3... I cant wait. But heres where you all come in

I will get the GT5 Prologue edition, so Ill have that which I want and will obviously buy GTA4, but what else is essential. I dont have a HD TV,
and generally will be on my own over summer, so I will save for a second controller at a later date. Is there any essential must owns for the general use of the console, or any games that I must have for fear of death without it?

Welcome to the PSWii side of life.
Its a shame that you couldn't get the 60GB, as the backwards compatibility really is amazing. If you wanted to you could get it off ebay for about 375.
As for games, I would have said COD4, but I am guessing more people are doing GTA4's online right now. Thats really all I can say, as I can't buy 16+ games, so I am completely missing out on the PS3 experience.

Yeh, I really cant afford more than £300 atm, and Im not really wanting anything without a warrenty. It annoys me, but it just means Ill keep the PS2 under the TV for the other halfs gaming, and I will use the online community for the PS3.. I did think COD4 sounded good, as I was hoping that would be on the Wii.. Not right now, but maybe in the future, once I have some funds..

Getting my ps3 in 2 weeks now, with cod4 and resistance fall of man or whatever its called, got an extra controller, getting the hdmi cable tomorrow, so all set to go, just need some online friends now. I would recommend getting a hdtv when you can afford it, the gaming experience is so much improved, get surround sound too it is amazing, I know RE5 is due out for the ps3 but rumour has it it wont be out til 09, not really sure what else to get, as long as you have the basics your away really.

call of duty 4 is around £40 check out www.play.com
