All about "Far Cry" Vengeance...
Some years ago I played Far Cry on my pc and i was really happy with that title.The idea of having Far Cry on Wii sounded great. Well,i got the title and soon afterwards i started playing my own far cry of dissapointment was heard.
At first the game shows a small video with ingame graphics unfolding the plot.But this video has an awful frame rate,splitting graphics in two from time to time.Thankfully this does not happen later in the game,all videos work fine.
Graphics: Ok,i know that a lot of people believe that wii don't have capabilities for good graphics but Zelda prooved them wrong.Well,far cry prooves them right.The quality is really low,shades from the trees are completly squared,rocks are as fake as they can be and characters really try to save the situation of all the above.They are ok,not something special though.Maybe it all would look better if i had a big 40" LCD screen but as most of people i don't.
Gameplay: I expected that i could do some cool stuff with the remote but i don't.Even the machette that i carry cuts only in one way,no matter how hard i try to make a cool move.Ok,it is easy to aim of course,but it is not easy to zoom as you need a small thrust to the front with the wii remote.
Also in red steel you could zoom the same way but there was far smoother and you didn't need to thrust.Also another problem is that when you cut with the machette and you are far away from the target,it moves forward automaticly to approach the target.That would be cool if you didn't face the problem of an obstacle between you and the target,which in that case,your heroe stucks and awaits to be killed. Predator mode is just a way to move faster and kill faster but it needs hard training to master cause you move so fast,you miss the opponents!It would be better if you just slow down time or something when you see and opponent cause now with a slight movement you can pass him without ever pressing any trigger or killing him with claws.
Another thing that really bothered me is that in the cover it shows the heroe riding a jetski and shooting back as it moves forward.Well,in the game that never happens,you only shoot forward,and if you are followed you really have to turn!
Really cool though is that you can rip off mounted turrents and carry them as weapons.Generally the weapons are fine,it is nice that you can use double guns,both pistols and semi-auto.Large variety of guns also.
Storyline:
Kinda boring storyline,you pretend to be a heroe for no apparent reason.
It could be far better storyline to keep the player going but it is not.
In the end all happens for a woman.
Sound:
Sound is normal,is ok,but...there is no sound coming from the remote!
Nothing,not even the sound of the machette....
Multiplayer: That one is just another classic multiplayer,find and shoot and collect stuff from the ground to make you kill the other one faster...
Overall....if you find it cheap,buy it,it can keep you some company.
If not,buy something better....
