Wii game Kororinpa
Kororinpa
What Can I say about this game?
years before many Wii players where even born, us oldies, or as I prefer to label us, RETRO GAMERS, where puzzling over a game made not from fancy graphics, but from a piece of wood.
This game square in design housed simple marble, the aim of the game was to get marble from point a to point b, ah, them where the days!
Anyway, ever since the game Monkey Ball invaded my life, I craved for a similar game to this to invade my console playing, alas it was not to be.
Until now..
Thanks to the boffins at Hudson we now have a delightful title called Kororinpa!!
The aim of the game, if you have not already guessed , is to move a marble (or something else, I will cover that later) around a maze.
Might sound boring to you, but if your a fan of the earlier Monkey ball titles (emphasis on the earlier ones) this game is a must for you.
Indeed it is a task of guiding the ball from point a to point b, as the game progresses it gets more complicated, as not only do you have to do that, but you also have to collect gems on the way.
The more you play the more you get addicted, as you want to beat your own time, and unlock more different balls, and different maps.
Now to the balls, at first I did not see the point in the variant on balls, but the more you play it you discover that you find yourself using the variants. Some maps seem impossible, so when you unlock, SUPER EASY BALL, it becomes vital to use the variants. Some balls give faster speeds enabling faster scores, and more unlock ables. Some balls make it harder (why you would want to dot hat I do not know) Some balls allow you to jump higher.
In fact you could say you have a Cornucopia of different balls
(pun very much intended!)
The game its self is one of the few games to use the Wii mote pretty much PERFECTLY!
Imagine the Wii mote as a plate, then in the plate is a ball..move the ball Left to right..you got this game.
Single player I would say is a bit weak, and would not last you long, if you do not like to play the game completest, IE open every map, best every time etc.
However I Can see a lot of scope from this title as a multilayer gamer. Playing against friends, family or enemy's would be a great laugh.
So I would personally say if your a fan of the earlier monkey ball games, emphasis earlier games, buy this right now.
I wish Wii had a demo channel as I'm sure most of you would love this, I would defiantly highly recommend it anyway, and is DEFIANTLY worth a rent at the very least!
Game play 7/10
Sound 6/10 OK it does the job
graphics 5/10 not great but you can not expect more really
lastability 5/10 or 8/10 depends if your single player or multilayer
overall 7/10
